Love For The Beautiful Game

 "It's just a game!"

Although my heart would disagree,

"It's just a game!"

I cry myself to sleep.

You change your car, your home, maybe your love,

But never ever do you change your club,

A legend said,

And that's what we learnt.

What drives one to sacrifice sleep,

What makes me laugh or feel agony,

Watching these strangers vying for the ball on the football pitch,

I'll never quite understand,

But then again these aren't stranger are they?

For all I know they are a family to me!

And so at the face of defeat,

Even with tear stained eyes I write,

I was your fan in times of triump,

In your darkest days you'll find a fan in me,

For I love my club,

I love my family.
